Ageless Martial Arts offers an excellent dojo location, Sensei Lorenzo is the warmest welcoming Sensei to host children birthday parties or to learn the arts inclusively. AMA hosted my grandson 8th birthday party yesterday and the Sensei found creative ways to keep the children and parents excitedly entertained...AMA is high on my favorites list

This place has been amazing for my son in so many ways. Sensei Lorenzo is fully invested in helping kids (and adults) challenge themselves to meet their full potential (physically and mentally). He also throws an epic Birthday party (also for kids or adults).

So far we are super happy with Ageless Martial Arts and Sensei Lorenzo. He seems to really care about spreading the benefits of martial arts and takes special care to teach karate to kids in a relatable way. The teaching method is the right balance beteeen discipline and fun. And Sensei does a ridiculous amount of extras for both kids and parents. Nice to see someone ambitiously growing his small business the right way. Highly recommend Ageless Martial Arts

Sensei Lorenzo and his staff go all out and work hard to better our boys and the community. Sensei is passionate, kind and goes to great lengths to please everyone and improve the children’s abilities. Not sure if I have ever met someone who appreciates, accepts and receives thoughts from parents and others to better their business. My boys are learning how to defend themselves, work hard and becoming passionate about being great at Shotokan. They are proud of their accomplishments. Thank you, Sensei!

I have been working out on my own for a very long time but never had much of any practical application of my fitness. I wanted to be able to learn how to apply my force with expertise. This want made me find Ageless. From the first time I spoke to Sensei Lorenzo on the phone he answered all of my questions with expertise and even advised to check out other schools if Ageless did not fit me, this showed me he cared more about my goal instead of his bank account. From the first time I stepped on the mat he was nothing but patient and a professional. I have only just started training at this dojo, but Sensei Lorenzo has made me incredibly excited to steep myself in Japanese tradition and learn the art of Karate. If you're not quite sure about joining or not, give the dojo a call, you'll see all the proof you need as soon as you talk to Sensei Lorenzo.

Have you always wanted to learn karate? Now is the time

Enpi Kata

Karate is an effective practice for self-defense, it is taught and trained in a proper way. It is a misconception that it is meant for sportspeople only. Rather, it was designed for personal protection and defense. Its most commonly practiced martial arts are globally preferred with enormous advantages over everyone’s health and life. This has been outdated over the years because people thought it’s just hype to consider this practice in modern times as self-defense. But I disagree with this concept, I think that learning karate would be helpful for a person throughout his life. This does not employ the utilization of weapons, due to which it is considered a noncombat discipline. Its practitioners respond to attacks by using a range of techniques that are a part of self-defense which includes kicking, punching, and striking. If you want to learn this, you should really give it a try.

What do practitioners learn?

Karate enables a learner to know body control, rhythm, agility, and timing. As learning acquiring it inclusive of defense is much more, as it includes strengthening mental health as well. Its no doubt that the mind conditions the whole body, so the best of the learners are those who have learned to condition their mind as an addition to conditioning their body. In famous tournaments, practitioners train to think clearly, because this is the way they can excel in their tournament. They are able to control their emotions, anger, frustration, feeling, and impatience.

A karate learner can learn a lot in just a shorter period of time. Its main key is to focus, its learning possibilities are endless, its goal is without limits. Students should be comfortable in attending its classes because this is the way they will be able to learn most. The basics can be learned in a year, and a student can just keep going with it.

Learn basics

Try to get in the zone

While starting karate, you should try to meditate. This would help you in clearing your mind as we have discussed that focus is a key for karate practitioners. Now is the time to work on these things, and take a new start. This start would help you in boosting your mind to be cleared. There’s no time limit for meditation, but 5 minutes can be good enough, this would enhance persons fighting skills as well. You should forget everything that’s wondering you, and focus.

Warm up

Warming up enables a body to get prepare for something you are going to do. It enhances the effectiveness of work this way. Then comes stretching, which is a crucial step in keeping a person free from injury.

Understanding a philosophy

Like everything else, karate has a philosophy as well, which is peace of mind. The situations of conflict are unavoidable, but these should be handled with power. This practice will include spirit, mind, along body simultaneously. It’s mainly considered to be a state of balancing everything.

Start and concentrate

You should begin karate with a ready stance, it requires setting an angle according to it; which includes Fukyugata series of 60 degrees, then pinan series of 45 degree, and Niahanci series of parallel and together. While doing this, the main thing was maintaining a balance, and concentrate on power and speed.

Master your moves

When you will keep on practicing your karate, you will be a master of your moves. It’s an encouraging thing for a learner, they should keep on doing the things they started with like punching and blocking. These punches will help you to practice in different ways, to attack more effectively in the future. Blocking holds the same importance in attack and defense. After these steps, kicking is also important, this would enhance your flexibility and stretches as well.

Practicing Kata

If you want to learn karate, you should make a start with all the basics and practice one kata per session. After this, you can move on to the next, after a session of all, redo the same steps. This would help you remember the steps, and every time you will be doing it, would make you a master of it.

Conclusion

All of these basic steps mentioned in this phase are included in the basic steps of karate. You will become an expert after practicing these moves. This would be a source of enhancing your health, focus, and defensive mechanism. You are fully encouraged to learn karate.
